Christmas Celebration Result
2021 has been difficult, both here and in Uganda, but we were determined to have a one day Christmas Celebration.
It is always astounding to see how the Lord looks after our needs. Our recent Christmas appeal for the annual Karis Christmas Party is one such an example…
We needed £1,455 to fund this year's Christmas party.
Without anyone talking to each other, you generously gave £1,593..
This funded gifts for every child and family. So, on Tuesday 14th December, across 6 different church locations, this year’s Christmas Celebration went ahead — attended by 350 people.
Praise God and thank you for your generous response.
Solome shares some of the highlights across the day…
Praise and worship
There was a lot of dancing and rejoicing for what the Lord had done in the lives of the families.
Testimony time
All those who gave testimonies expressed joy and gratitude to the Lord for the gift of life and providence.
Preaching
The same message was shared across the Churches by the Priests and was full of encouragement to the families that the Lord is “Emmanuel”. He is with us at all times and in all circumstances.
Cake Cutting
A joyous moment when families get to enjoy a piece of cake.
Gifts
All the 97 families received a basket of assorted items, as well as a Christmas card from Assistant Bishop Hannington, a bunch of matoke and a live chicken.
The majority of the families confessed that this Christmas party was one of its kind where they first receiveda live chickenand that all family members got to enjoy it — even the young ones who remained at home because they were too young.
Thank you!
We give thanks to the Lord for His faithfulness to us and preserving our lives that we were able to celebrate this great day in power and joy!
We also bless the Lord for a successful party in all Churches and appreciation to:
Our Assistant Bishop for the day’s message which was drawn from Matthew 1:23.
Our UK friends who sent money for family gifts which were received with joy, to the Priests for their pastoral support.
The Karis staff that ensured that all that was needed to facilitate the function was in place.
And the CCMs (church community mobilisers) for the great mobilisation.
