Back to School!
Last Friday (7 Jan) the Karis team invited all the youth from Primary 5 to University to a day of encouragement and resourcing in preparation for the start of the new term last Monday (10 Jan).
Some of the Karis children have been out of school for 2 years! The team were impressed by the number that turned up, some arriving late because they had to walk miles to get to the meeting at St John’s Kamwokya. It showed how much they are committed to their education.
The 165 children were divided into 3 groups…
upper primary,
secondary
and higher institutions of learning (which included Vocational Training and University).
Each group was led by a specialist in educating and supporting that age group.
Everybody left feeling motivated, happy and with a gift of stationery — books, pens and pencils.
We pray that the start of the term will go well for them all, that they adjust quickly to being back in school, apply themselves diligently and stay safe from Covid.
