Water filters for families
[Update 7 July 2022]: News of the award going to Karis Kids was featured yesterday in The Hampshire Chronicle.
[Update 20 July 2022]: That’s TV Hampshire also featured the award in a short interview on their Freeview channel. The clip is available on their Twitter page.
Today we won a Movement for Good award, with a prize amount of £1,000 for the charity! This will directly fund the purchase of 69 gravity water filters for 69 of our Karis families.
The water filter removes dirt, bacteria, and certain contaminates in dirty water. Each ceramic filter only needs replacing every 12 months on average, helping provide reliably clean water at home in the slums.
Will Law, UK Champion for Karis Kids, commented:
Winning the Movement for Good award is a joy to us! We’re a small charity doing important work without the resources of a large organisation. It's an honour for the charity to win, but the real difference is always felt most by the families in Uganda. We’re committed to helping them win.
Help us go further
With just another £500, we will be able to provide water filters for all our families. Do reach out to edward.law@kariskids.org if you would like to contribute to this cause. Any additional funds above this will help fund ceramic water filters for years to come.
